 Dr. Alfonso A. Cardenas
Dr. Cardenas has lived and worked in the Cushing community for 22 years. He owned a successful OB/GYN practice in Cushing for 20 years before retiring. "My patients encouraged me to come out of retirement" said Dr. Cardenas.
Dr. Cardenas joined the medical staff at the new Cimarron Healthcare Center and Surgical Care Center in 2006. "I am looking forward to seeing my patients at Cimarron Healthcare Center and Drumright Regional Hospital Clinic. I plan to diagnose and treat women’s health care issues for all women in Cushing, Drumright, Chandler, and the surrounding communities" said Cardenas.
World Class
In 1975, Dr. Cardenas obtained his Doctor's Degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Costa Rica. He practiced Internal Medicine and Oncology at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL. After this, he did his residency at the Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas, specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Experienced
Dr. Cardenas began his OB/GYN practice in Sherman, Texas and remained for three years. Moving to Cushing, OK in 1984, Dr. Cardenas established his own successful practice. He is a distinguished member of the Cushing community as well as the medical communities of Pawnee, Cleveland, Sand Springs and Oklahoma City. He is well respected by his peers, patients and staff. Dr. Cardenas' surgical practice includes gynecological laparoscopic surgery, vaginal repairs and hysterectomy. He is well known by his patients for the quality of his medical and surgical care.
Family
Dr. Cardenas just celebrated 31 years of marriage to his lovely wife, Liliana. They have four children and three grandchildren.
